Our SchoolGreenhaugh Primary School is situated in the small village of Greenhaugh, 4 miles north of Bellingham within the Northumberland National Park. The catchment area for the school includes the villages of Greenhaugh and Falstone and the surrounding farms and hamlets. The Primary School is an integral part of the local community. The school has a pleasant outdoor play area including a field with goal posts, and areas of interest where children can play and socialise. In March 2007 we opened our Adventure Trail which provides challenging play possibilities for all children.

Greenhaugh Primary School caters for the educational needs of pupils aged 4 to 11 years. We also place great importance on the children’s personal development and well-being and were graded ‘Good’ in this area by Ofsted (March 2017). There are currently 29 pupils on role divided into two classes. We currently have pre-school children attending once a month as part of North Tinies Outreach sessions. The number of sessions will increase as the children get nearer to their start in Reception. These sessions will help the children to become confident and settled in the school enviroment, ensuring a smooth transition the following September when they start "big school". After-school care is also provided by Surestart Childrens Centre at Bellingham and children can be picked up from school by prior arrangement. (See Curriculum section for more details) The school works with other schools in the area on joint projects and has regular contact with the Middle school. (There are changes to our usual arrangements due to the COVID 19 pandemic). |
